Windows 10 Tip: Launching Full-screen Mode for UWP Apps

If you want to take advantage of the full capacity of your computer monitor or laptop/tablet screen for your Windows 10 apps, here’s a handy keyboard shortcut:

Windows Key + Shift + Enter

Pressing these keys together forces the app into full screen mode (or, to some, the kiosk mode) which pushes app title and menu bars and the Windows taskbar off the screen.  But, note — this ONLY works for Windows 10 UWP apps – it does NOT work for legacy Windows applications.

This is a handy key combination particularly for those wanting to immerse themselves in web site browsing, reading news articles on the web, reading books from the new Book store in Windows 10 Creators Update, or getting a clearer view of a PDF in Microsoft Edge.
