UPDATE: Microsoft has now provided a KB article describing this situation and offering three workarounds while HP works on a permanent solution to the bad driver problem.
Another driver issue seems to have cropped up for thoseHP computers.
The culprit is the HpqKbFiltr.sys driver.
A community fix has been found, which involves deleting or renaming HpqKbFiltr.sys through a command prompt recovery screen, usually located in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ directory.
Keep in mind, this is not a problem with the Windows cumulative updates, but instead its the installation of the HP driver through Windows Update. For now, it’s best to not install the driver.
