Things that didn’t make ConfigMgr 2012 RTM: Remove app when no longer advertised

Per a thread on the SMS/SCCM email list today, it’s interesting to hear that the standard SCCM 2007 option of “Remove this package from clients when it is no longer advertised” for App-V didn’t make the cut for the RTM version of CM2012.  This option, in fact, does not exist in the CM2012 console and removing the Application Deployment from CM 2012 has no impact on the end-point (App-V application still present and functional).

Per the thread response…

Unfortunately that setting didn’t make it into RTM in time for release. There has been much feedback to put it back in for SP1 along with the other App-V additions coming.

…the recommended method is to add an uninstall for the App-V at package creation time and to use the uninstall for removals.
