The Improvements the January Firmware for Surface Studio and Surface Pro 4 Introduced

Yesterday, Microsoft delivered new firmware and drivers for the Surface Studio and Surface Pro 4. This marks the first ever firmware and driver update for the Surface Studio.

Here’s what this month’s edition tells us about the updates…

Updates for Surface Studio

Here is the summary of the updates we’ve made in January for Surface Studio devices:

     •    improvements to speech recognition accuracy, quality of Skype call audio,

and notification alerts

     •    improvements to Ethernet connection stability
     •    improved compatibility with the latest games
     •    reduced time to wake from sleep

of Skype call audio and notification alerts.

     •    Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I219-LM (v12.15.23.8) improves Ethernet connection stability.

Here is the summary of the updates we’ve made in January for Surface Pro 4 devices:

     •    improvements to system stability, keyboard stability, and storage performance
     •    improvements to battery life during sleep
     •    disables touch when cover is closed
     •    adds support for an upcoming product release
