Microsoft has been continually adding new features to System Center Configuration Manager to ensure that it can work as a true hybrid cloud mechanism, allowing customers to take advantage of both on-premises and Azure value prospects. There’s a lot of value in doing it this way. Microsoft recently delivered a download that documents how the company has pioneered this effort itself. Download: Migrating System Center Configuration Manager on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure – To reduce reliance on on-premises infrastructure, Microsoft Core Services Engineering and Operations migrated Configuration Manager to Azure, allowing flexible scaling of both virtual machine size and site server roles to mirror demand and reduce costs. As valuable as this document is for spurring strategy, for most, getting beyond written instruction important. Steve Rachui, Microsoft Premier Field Engineer, will be on-hand at IT/Dev Connections 2018 to walk attendees through this very thing. Not just a normal 90-minute session, Steve will be delivering this as an all-day pre-conference workshop on Monday of the conference. Check it out: ConfigMgr and Azure – A Flexible, Powerful and Compelling Combination! ConfigMgr has long been a leader for on-prem management. The ability to integrate ConfigMgr with various services in Azure makes ConfigMgr an even more compelling management solution. In this full day session, we will walk through the various ways in which ConfigMgr integrates with Azure. The discussion will include integration with Windows Store for Business, Upgrade Readiness, Cloud Management Gateway, Cloud Distribution Point and more. We will also talk through the requirements and options for hosting ConfigMgr either partially or fully in an Azure environment.
