Amazon Updates iOS and Android Alexa Apps with Drop In Capabilities

Amazon has been rolling out new features and capabilities over the past couple days. A device update delivered new device-to-device communications and prepped the Alexa devices (Echo and Dot) for new Drop In capabilities. Drop In allows an Alexa owner to simply open up an audio and video (video for the Amazon Show) connection between devices. The person on the other end isn’t required to “answer” a Drop In call like is required for the device-to-device calling. Today, Amazon is delivering updates to the Alexa app for both iOS and Android that have new options for the Drop In feature. With the Alexa app update, you can use the app to perform Drop Ins. Microsoft Releases Visio Viewer for iPad

Today Microsoft has taken wraps off a viewer application for Visio files for the iPad. Apple Launches Certified Refurbished iPhone Sales

Apple today has officially started selling its own refurbished iPhones. Being Apple certified refurbished carries additional value and weight. Prior to this capability, refurbished iPhones could only be obtained through 3rd party sellers on Amazon or on eBay – most of which shipped from Asian markets. The offering is starting slow and should gear up over time. Currently, Apple only offers a few models of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Pricing is what you’d expect from Apple – i.e., seems overpriced which will send most still searching Amazon and eBay for deals.
