You sort of had to expect it, but the Surface Book 2 has just received its first firmware update since release. This comes pretty close on the heels of the official, public release. But, that’s not surprising considering Microsoft’s hardware history has never been perfect. Each model of Surface device has seen its own share of problems. The latest for the Surface Book 2 is that based on specific power levels, the device can drain battery even when plugged in.
So far, the Surface Book 2 is the only Surface device to receive a firmware update in November, but that can always change. According to the firmware rating scale that Microsoft provides, the firmware for this month is focused on reliability and compatibility – meaning the company hasn’t yet taken a stab at fixing the power drain issue.

According to the listing, Windows 10 Creators Update and Windows 10 Fall Creators Update users get two very different firmware updates.
