Latest Rollup Fixes Office 365-Windows Server Essentials Integration

Thanks to Microsoft, we rarely know what’s included in the onslaught of various update rollups that are intended for fix a gaggle of issues in one fell swoop. However, the company is outlining one specific fix in the October 18 rollup that solves an issue that was talked about a few times and given workarounds during IT/Dev Connections 2016 sessions.

Microsoft says…

There was a known issue about Microsoft Office 365 Integration failure on Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials due to exceeding the maximum message size quota for incoming messages while retrieving the subscription information. We are pleased to inform that the fix for this issue has been included with latest monthly quality rollup for Windows Server 2012 R2.

Microsoft calls this update a “Quality” rollup. Whether or not that means the rollup is intended to fix quality or is a quality-tested fix itself remains to be seen. But, if you’re experiencing this issue and haven’t rolled out this fix yet, you might want to move deeper into testing.
