If you’re noticing some strange occurrences in Microsoft Outlook after applying the October 2017 updates from Patch Tuesday, there’s at least two known issues reported so far. Microsoft has supplied workarounds for each:
Issue #1: Outlook Home Page feature is missing in folder properties
ISSUE – After installing the October Public Update, folder home pages no longer appear and the Home Page feature is missing in Outlook folder properties. This feature was disabled by default to limit security vulnerabilities.
Issue #2: [WORKAROUND] Outlook 2016 prompts for credentials when opening attachments
ISSUE – Outlook 2016 On Premise users are prompted for credentials when opening email attachments. This occurs after updating to Current Channel build 16.0.8431.2079.
Workarounds are located on the Fixes or workarounds for recent issues in Outlook for Windows page.
There’s also one additional issue that hasn’t made it to the standard fixes page for Outlook.
