Prior to Microsoft removing Windows 10 1809, there were a few instances where it was reported the big file deletion bug that forced the company to halt distribution was caused by a Group Policy bug that would remove user profiles – which included all the files and settings associated with those profiles.
KB4464330, which takes Windows 10 1809 to OS Build 17763.55, has a fix for this particular bug.
Addresses an issue affecting group policy expiration where an incorrect timing calculation may prematurely remove profiles on devices subject to the “Delete user profiles older than a specified number of day.”
For those that were able to install Windows 10 1809 without problems when it was available, this update should help alleviate the possibility of losing your Windows profile and files without notice. If you have Windows 10 1809 installed, you will definitely want to apply this update.
