Never Miss an Alexa Timer Notification Again

Now, that Amazon has delivered a much requested whole-home audio feature for Alexa devices, many customers have moved on to the next round of wants and desires. One of those is having the ability for Alexa to alert you when a timer you have configured goes off. Its not that this feature doesn’t work, its just that timers are not synchronized between devices, meaning that when a timer alert goes off on a device and you happen to be in another room, you may not hear it.

IFTTT has a recipe to help solve this problem in the interim. When enabled and configured, Alexa will send a notification to your smartphone when a timer goes off. You must install the IFTTT app on your smartphone for this to work because the alert is actually sent to the app’s notification system (and not through a text (SMS) message).

Here’s the IFTTT recipe: Receive a notification on your phone when your Amazon Alexa timer goes off

Alexa is available for Amazon devices Echo, Dot, Tap, Echo Show, Echo Look, Dash Wand, Fire tablets, and Fire TV, Amazon Fire TV Edition TVs, but also on iOS, Android, and the web with Reverb.ai.
