Microsoft says you don’t need to migrate to WSUS 4.0 until 2020, as the lifecycle for WSUS 3.0 was recently extended to match that of Windows Server 2008 R2. Otherwise, support would have ended already (July 2016). However to take advantage of Windows 10 feature updates, organizations need to move to WSUS 4.0 quickly. WSUS 3.0 only supports the installation of Windows 10 quality updates.
Microsoft has put together a resource to help organizations move to WSUS 4.0. Interestingly, the resource is on the page that relays the WSUS 3.0 support statement.
The resource is here: Windows Server Update Services 3.0 SP2 Support
