UPDATE March 29, 2018: According to sources, the culprit for ending the campaign was the hashtag. See: Microsoft’s FlipTheSwitch Campaign Delayed Due to Hashtag
It looked like a fantastic new promotion to get on-premise SCCM users more interested in partnering their infrastructure with the Microsoft cloud. A post by Brad Anderson, a marketing video speckled with MVPs, and a social hashtag (#FlipTheSwitch) led the charge for this new attempt to put in place a mechanism that would eventually lead to a migration to the cloud.

But, it was short-lived.
Today, except for some remaining hashtag entries on Twitter, the promotion seems dead.
Brad Anderson’s original post (even his Twitter post) has been deleted and the YouTube video has been removed.
Was it too soon? Was Microsoft just not ready to talk about this new feature and released it too soon – somewhat like the company does with its monthly updates?
This is most likely the case. We’ve reach out about this and will follow up.
