Microsoft’s FlipTheSwitch Campaign Delayed Due to Hashtag

Microsoft’s FlipTheSwitch Campaign Delayed Due to Hashtag

We reported recently that Microsoft is beginning to push a new campaign to highlight improved co-existence features in System Center Configuration Manager, allowing customers to quickly manage assets on-premises and in the cloud by simply “flipping a switch.” The campaign included a blog post announcement, a video complete with MVP endorsements, and a special hashtag (#FlipTheSwitch).

Shortly after the campaign began, however, it was ended, and customers were left scratching their head. Did Microsoft release it too soon? Was the feature not quite ready?

We reached out to Microsoft about the Flip the Switch campaign and found that the campaign was delayed due to the hashtag. A quick search for that campaign’s hashtag reveals that it is part of another, more established one about stopping abuse.

The Flip the Switch push will begin anew the first week of April, but with a new hashtag.
