Microsoft’s investment in Container technologies continues. Today the software/cloud company has announced the intent to acquire Deis.
With offices in Boulder and San Francisco, Deis builds open source software that makes Kubernetes easy to use.
Gabe Monroy, CTO of Deis says…
Today, we are excited to announce that Deis will be joining Microsoft to continue our mission to make container technology easier to use. Microsoft has a storied history of building tools and technologies that work for developers. Paired with their cloud leadership and unambiguous support for open source software, we are impressed by the breadth, depth and reach of Microsoft to help define, shape and build new cloud-native applications. We look forward to making Azure the best place to run containerized workloads.
Microsoft Scott Guthrie has this to say…
…we’re pleased to announce that Microsoft has signed an agreement to acquire Deis – a company that has been at the center of the container transformation. Deis gives developers the means to vastly improve application agility, efficiency and reliability through their Kubernetes container management technologies.
