Microsoft Stops Windows 10 1803 From Installing on Computers Running Avast Antivirus Software

A growing problem over the past week or so has been pinpointed the Avast Antivirus software being the culprit of an issue where the PC will not boot correctly after installing Windows 10 April 2018 Update (1803).

An Avast moderator says this…

Microsoft temporarily disabled the updates on version 1803 on PCs with Avast. We are working together with MS to find out the cause of this issue, but unfortunately right now neither MS nor us are able to reproduce the issue.
