Microsoft Seeks to Automate Security with Acquisition of Hexadite

Hexadite is a security company that has architected its solutions to use Artificial Intelligence so that threat investigations and remediation can be automated.

Microsoft plans to use the Hexadite portfolio to improve Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection.

The notice of acquisition comes just days after Reuters reported that Russian cyber security company Kaspersky is suing Microsoft for possible anti-trust issues over how it says Microsoft is illegally pushing customers toward its own security products.

Hexadite is just the latest Israeli-based company that Microsoft has acquired. There have been several over the past couple years.
