Microsoft is making some changes in its Azure certification program. We reported earlier about an upcoming combination of exams to simplify the Azure Administrator certification:
Microsoft has decided to consolidate AZ-100 and AZ-101 into AZ-103. This consolidation is intended to simplify the Azure Administrator Associate certification that can be achieved through sitting for one exam.
Now, the company has rolled out a new certification area: Azure Security Engineer Associate.
To fulfill this role, AZ-500 is now available.
Azure Security Engineers implement security controls and threat protection, manage identity and access, and protect data, applications, and networks in cloud and hybrid environments as part of the end-to-end infrastructure.
Not a requirement, but Microsoft recommends that certification seekers use Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) as a prerequisite.
