Microsoft Reminds Surface Customers to Replace Their Dangerous Power Cords

In January 2016, Microsoft issued a voluntary recall on dangerous power cables associated with Microsoft Surface Pro (original), Microsoft Surface Pro 2, and certain Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Devices.

The company today is distributing brand new emails as reminders for those that have not taken advantage of this offer yet. The power cords could split and create a fire hazard or cause electrocution.

If you’ve not replaced your power cord, the process is easy to do and only the power cord is replaced – not the entire power brick.
