Microsoft Moves to Include SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams in Advanced Threat Protection

In 2015, Microsoft rolled out Advanced Threat Protection for its Office 365 suite of products. But, its Office products have evolved since that initial release. New products have been added and renewed focus on aging products has developed.

To provide security for the modern suite, Microsoft has now rolled out Advanced Thread Protection for blanket coverage of SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams for Office 365 tenants.

In our continued effort to address the modern threat landscape, today we’re announcing General Availability of Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection for SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams. Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams uses signals and smart heuristics as quality indicators to identify the files within your tenant that may contain malicious content, which includes correlating the file activity signals from SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams within your tenant with the Microsoft Security Intelligence Graph threat feeds.

Advanced Threat Protection is included in Office 365 Enterprise E5.
