The rumors were true. On a day when Microsoft couldn’t get its live blog working in China, the company announced an evolved Surface Pro model – void of any numbering schemes. The Surface Pro brings a new processor (7th generation Intel Core processor), a curvier exterior, a better kickstand hinge (165-degree range of motion) and is touted as the lightest Surface Pro ever. Microsoft says its 17x faster than the iPad Pro, has a fanless design and 13.5 hours of battery life. An LTE Advanced version will be available in units shipping later this year.
Microsoft continues to push its Surface devices as creative devices, so one of the bigger announcements was a new, improved pen with tilt sensitivity. Panos Panay, on hand for the announcement, alos announced that the warm and inviting keyboard covers introduced for the Surface Laptop are coming for the new Surface Pro.
