Microsoft Building a SMBv1 Shame List

SMBv1 will be a distant memory when Windows 10 Fall Creators Update releases. Microsoft is finally removing support for the old standard and is suggesting that you do, too.

One of the bigger issues about eliminating this protocol from customer networks is identifying products that still use it, and then upgrading or replacing them. Microsoft has begun to build a sort of clearinghouse list of products that it is aware of that still utilize SMBv1. Microsoft said it will continue to expand on the list as it identifies more culprits.
