Meltdown/Spectre Fallout: Bluescreens and Unsupported Antivirus Applications

Microsoft delivery of security updates to head-off exploits for the processor flaws hasn’t been without problems. As has been the case with most Microsoft patching efforts, there’s confusion and problems.

Microsoft has put together a resource page to help those experiencing bluescreens after installing the security patch. And, also included on the page is a FAQ that attempts to help clear up many of the misconceptions and confusion around both when updates will become available and how to determine if an antivirus application is truly compatible with the patch.
