Known Issues to Watch Out For with the Windows 10 May 2019 Update
Voiced by Amazon Polly

Earlier today, Microsoft began making its next update, Windows 10 May 2019 Update, available for everyone.

Despite suggesting that it would improve its testing procedures, particularly through its Insider program, this update comes with its own set of problems. Some of those problems Microsoft is continuing to investigate, while some of the others the company has already outlaid mitigation including blocking based on criteria.

Here’s what’s still under investigation:

  • Display brightness may not respond to adjustments
  • Duplicate folders and documents showing in user profile directory
  • Audio not working with Dolby Atmos headphones and home theater

Here’s what is being mitigated in one way or another:

  • Intel Audio displays an intcdaud.sys notification
  • Error attempting to update with external USB device or memory card attached
  • Older versions of BattlEye anti-cheat software incompatible
  • Unable to discover or connect to Bluetooth devices
  • Night light settings do not apply in some cases
  • Cannot launch Camera app
  • Intermittent Wi-Fi connectivity loss
  • AMD RAID driver incompatibility
  • D3D applications and games may fail to enter full-screen mode on rotated displays

You can find all the details here: Windows 10, version 1903 and Windows Server, version 1903
