KB4041691 Can Cause Virtual Machines to Stop Booting

Here’s the first reported issue with October’s updates.

According to Didier Van Hoye, he came to work facing Virtual Machines that would not boot. You’ll find in the account that Didier has learned a lesson about using the Auto-approval option for WSUS: Don’t do it.

However, after the KB4041691 installed, his VMs would not boot.  Didier provides for VMs that stop working: Quick Fix Publish : VM won’t boot after October 2017 Updates for Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 (KB4041691)
