Windows 10 1809 Has Another Bug that Can Overwrite Customer Data

Microsoft says it has fixed the most glaring bugs with Windows 10 1809, including the one that deletes customer data, but customers continue to wait for the official re-release.

But, there’s a new one identified that, under the right conditions, can still overwrite customer data.

Per a thread on Reddit

I noticed that whenever I move something out of a zip, the “do you want to replace these files” dialogue never shows up, it just does it.

I’ve reinstalled windows and it still does it, it’s only on the October update. Pretty nasty bug since you can accidentally overwrite a file and have no way of getting it back

Edit: I’ve made a feedback post about this, please go upvote it: https://aka.ms/AA2y229

Be careful out there, folks! Windows is still a buggy piece of software.
