Microsoft delivered a new security update for Outlook 2007 yesterday afternoon. We noted that HERE. However, now some clarification has been made.
The update made available yesterday is actually a replacement to one that Microsoft delivered on Patch Tuesday (September 12th). The one delivered on September 12th was yet another botched update that Microsoft has had to replace.
That’s fine. This is a continual problem and customers are getting used to it – most are delaying security updates for weeks because of it. HOWEVER, Microsoft also updated the original KB article (KB4011086) to supply instructions for uninstalling it. That’s right – you need to uninstall the original and then install the more current one that popped up on September 19th.
Make sure you review both KB articles to get the full view.
Original (with uninstall instructions): KB4011086
