In a bit of fun news today, its PowerShell’s birthday!
PowerShell has most notably been assigned the invention of Jeffrey Snover, but the design can also be attributed to Bruce Payette, and James Truher.
The scripting language first appeared on November 14, 2006 (11 years ago) and was developed as a more powerful alternative to VB Script. While it was initially targeted toward managing Windows systems, over time Microsoft pushed PowerShell into its various other platforms and products and eventually, today, now interoperates with Mac and Linux. Microsoft has also began pushing PowerShell as the datacenter and cloud automation tool.
Are you using PowerShell? How will you celebrate today?
