I have an ost file that was originally from my old exchange server 2003 server. Over the weekend I blew out my entire network and recreated it. The only problem now is that I can’t associate this OST file with the user’s mailbox. I’ve tried everything from previous posts and still nothing has worked. I get the error message the ost file is not compatible with this version of ms office offline folders information service. I looked up that error as well and still cannot get this to work. I’ve also ran the exchange recovery tool 2.0 and that didn’t work.

OSt files are keyed with a mailbox SID and an Outlook profile.
This keeps someone from making a copy of the OST file and opening it on another computer.
Since you rebuilt your network, it is likely that the OST will not match up with the new mailbox.

Can you open up Outlook in OFFLINE mode?
If so then try to copy the contents of the OST file to a PST file.
