Google Adds Flight Delay Notifications to Assistant

Google Adds Flight Delay Notifications to Assistant

In a blog post extolling its travel-based services, Google also announced that its Flight Delay Predictions (rolled out earlier this year) is now available within its Google Assistant.

Google Assistant can now take these predictive results and turn them into proactive Flight Delay warnings for travelers.

To help with the increase in delayed flights this time of year, the Google Assistant now shows you predicted flight delays, too. You can ask things like, “Hey Google, is my flight on time?” or “Hey Google, what’s the status of the American Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Denver?”

And to make it easier to stay up-to-date on changes to your flight time, over the next few weeks the Assistant will begin proactively notifying you on your phone if we predict a flight delay and tell you the reason if we know it.

Google Assistant is available for Android, ChromeOS, and iOS.

For ChromeOS, Google Assistant is currently available as an Android app and built into the Pixel Slate. Full Google Assistant support will be added to all supported ChromeOS devices in an upcoming release.
