In previous versions of Windows 10, the Get Office app was nothing more than a splash ad for Microsoft’s cloud-based productivity suite. In Windows 10 Creators Update, it’s still an advertisement for Office, but its now a bit more functional and provides some value.
For example, in the My Account menu, you can identify how many Office install licenses you have left, share a license, find out when your subscription is due, and get access to the mobile apps for Office. Note that these all launch web pages (a launchpad), but having the links consolidated in this way is useful. As another example, you can use the Documents menu to locate recently used files.
