We’re not sure if this is a break in policy, but Patch Tuesday (the second Tuesday of each month) is generally considered for the deliver of security updates. This month, Microsoft is delivering both security and non-security updates for its Office products. The stack of patches include 17 security updates and 30 non-security updates.

Microsoft’s Office updates for June caused problems for customers, with Microsoft having to spend the latter part of the month sending out repaired updates. We’re now finding out today that some of those fixes were rescinded quietly. On one hand Microsoft wants customers to stay up-to-date to ensure the best product security, but on the other hand, customers are increasingly reluctant to install any updates until the first round of problems are reported.
