Along with a long list of problems this month from Microsoft’s <sarcasm> awesomely quality updates </sarcasm>, another issue has surfaced. This one seems to have affected more than the others – including the HP keyboard driver bluescreen problem. And, this more common problem isn’t dedicated to a specific manufacturer but seems to hit just about any computer type.
According to reports, after installing this month’s Windows updates, many users report that there’s no audio and to compound the issue, Windows gives a no audio output device error message.
There have been a bunch of suggested fixes, including using the old-style device manager to check for driver updates, but this latest one seems to be working for a majority.
Per the thread Easy Fix For The “no audio output device” without quality loss on Reddit, just uninstall the audio drivers, reboot, and allow Windows to use the older drivers.
