Extend the Application Catalog with a web.config edit and a couple PowerShell cmdlets

One of the better Microsoft posts I’ve seen in a long while takes you through the steps to extend and customize the Application Catalog for ConfigMgr 2012.  Though just an example, the post should give you some ideas and spur creativity for developing your own Application Catalog based on company-specific requirements and needs.
