DoD Gets Its Own Azure Datacenters from Microsoft has a nice ring to it, and I’m sure Microsoft would institute that naming convention in a second.

According to a report at, a show of good faith from Microsoft will net the Department of Defense its own, personal Azure datacenter. This will actually be the 6th Microsoft Azure Datacenter complex. The DoD versions will be the first to operate as a physically separate datacenters, with ribbon cutting happening in 2017 for locations in Texas and Arizona.
