Earlier we told that Amazon has finally unleashed support for using Alexa devices to voice-control your Fire TV entertainment. Since then Amazon has delivered its own official announcement about the integration and within the official news release there’s a nugget of additional exciting news.
We’ve already surmised that the Fire TV platform will eventually become the next Amazon Show device, but now things get even more interesting. Not only can you now control Fire TV with Alexa voice commands (essentially making your TV a huge Amazon Show), but Amazon will soon enable the capability for you to stream your smart camera feeds directly to your TV.
Smart Home Camera Support
Coming soon, Amazon will also enable you to use your Fire TV to view live video feeds via Alexa from your compatible smart home cameras by simply saying “Alexa, show my kitchen camera.”
You will be able to see who’s at the front door or check on a sleeping baby in the nursery. Smart home camera support on Fire TV works with a range of devices from companies including Ring, Arlo, Nest, EZVIZ, Vivint Smart Home, Amcrest, Logitech, and August.
