Checking for Installed Updates Using PowerShell

If you need to check to see if a certain update has been installed on a local or remote computer, use the following PowerShell cmdlets.

To check the local computer for a specific update:

Get-Hotfix -id kb4088785

To check a remote computer for a specific update (replace Win10Computer with the name of the remote computer you want to query):

Get-Hotfix –id kb4088785 –computername Win10Computer

To check multiple remote computers for a specific update, just add a comma and another computer name:

Get-Hotfix –id kb4088785 -computername Win10Computer1,Win10Computer2| Out-Gridview –Title “KB4088785 Status”
