Microsoft Begins to Rollout SharePoint Communication Sites

Announced during Microsoft’s recent SharePoint Virtual Summit, SharePoint Communication Sites provide templates and drag-and-drop functionality for companies to quickly create dynamic web sites. The rollout is happening now for Office 365 First Release customers, with the rest of the Office 365 subscribers getting access worldwide in the coming months. Microsoft is targeting the end of August 2017 as the completion date for the public rollout. First Release rollout is ongoing and should be completed within 2-3 weeks. Additionally, Microsoft will be bringing the same development features to its mobile apps for iOS and Android. Microsoft Garage Brings Cortana Dictation to Office with Dictate

Microsoft Garage has released a new add-in for Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint that uses the speech recognition behind Cortana to convert speech to text. Called Dictate, the add-in supports 20 languages for dictation and 60 languages for real-time translations. Dictate is available now for Windows 8.1 or later, Office 2013 or later, and .Net Framework 4.5.0 or later. Microsoft Changes System Requirements for Office 365 ProPlus, Aligns Updates with Windows 10

Microsoft today has announced the following that will affect customers… System Requirements change: Starting October 13, 2020, Office 365 ProPlus or Office perpetual in mainstream support will be required to connect to Office 365 services. Office 365 ProPlus will deliver the best experience, but for customers who aren’t ready to move to the cloud by 2020, we will also support connections from Office perpetual in mainstream support.
