Tip: Pluralsight on Fire TV

Did you know? If you have a Pluralsight account, you can download and install a Pluralsight app for Fire TV. This provides an awesome way to view your video training on a larger TV screen, but also allows you to “get away” from the intrusions of sitting at a desk and being accosted by notifications for various things and consuming learning (and maybe some snacks) in a more relaxed setting. The app experience is pretty good. You can get the app by searching on your Fire TV device, or grab it here: Pluralsight app for Fire TV Don’t have a Fire TV device? Maybe the availability of the Pluralsight app will push you over the edge. Check out Amazon’s full Fire TV line-up here: Amazon’s Fire TV P.S. The app also works with Amazon’s Fire Tablets.

Registration for Microsoft Replacement Exam AZ-103 Begins on May 1, 2019

Microsoft has decided to consolidate AZ-100 and AZ-101 into AZ-103. This consolidation is intended to simplify the Azure Administrator Associate certification that can be achieved through sitting for one exam. The unfortunate thing is that this new exam is only available after May 1, 2019. Those that are currently studying to pass the original exams have asked whether or not they should wait. The recommendation is that if a person has already passed either AZ-100 or AZ-101 and ready to sit for the other exam, they should finish the track. Otherwise, if the person is just starting out to obtain the certification, they can begin studying, but focus on AZ-103. The AZ-103 Microsoft Azure Administrator certification exam is geared towards Azure Administrator candidates who manage cloud services...

Microsoft Adds Beta Certification Exam Charge to Compensate for Historic Highs for No-shows

They call it a discount – we call it free. Microsoft has been offering 100% discounts on its beta exams for some time. This gives certification candidates the ability to take exams for free and gives Microsoft the capability of getting help in determining the quality of the content. However, the company says it is facing “historic highs” in no-shows come exam day. Its no secret that the desire for certification has dropped of considerably over the past couple years – particularly for Microsoft products that can change drastically in a months time due to accelerated update schedules. Trying to keep up with the pace of updates has left those seeking certifications with very little time to study and take exams. Due to the no-show situation, Microsoft says… Becaus...

Free Certifications

By Garth Jones My neighbor asked me to review the résumé of a newly graduated computer science student. Like most new grads, they don’t have a lot of experience in the IT world. In order for him to stand out from the crowd, I suggested that he get a few certifications under his belt. You might find this advice to be odd, especially when new graduates have little experience and not a lot of extra money. Brainbench, however, offers a number of free certifications. Why not give them a try? Please note that Brainbench’s exam list is always changing, so check back often for the most up-to-date information. Based on the current list, these are the exams that I suggested he take: · Computer Literacy (Windows 8.1) · MS SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services · MS SQL Server 2014 Programming · MS Window...
