Hosting and scaling your apps with Azure Container Service

Corey Sanders from the Azure compute engineering team, demonstrates just how fast it is to spin up containers with pre-installed apps using ACS and how to configure and manage an app on the service to meet scale requirements dynamically using a Linux-based environment. If you are a developer, this gives you an agile way to package and deploy your apps; if you are an IT admin, you get a simple infrastructure solution to manage your IT environment and easily spin up or spin down resources as required. As outlined in the show, to try out just go to the Azure Portal and select ACS under containers in the Gallery. Looking for an awesome, no-nonsense technical conference for IT Pros, Devs, and DevOps? DoD Gets Its Own Azure Datacenters from Microsoft

Azure.gov has a nice ring to it, and I’m sure Microsoft would institute that naming convention in a second. According to a report at Fedscoop.com, a show of good faith from Microsoft will net the Department of Defense its own, personal Azure datacenter. This will actually be the 6th Microsoft Azure Datacenter complex. The DoD versions will be the first to operate as a physically separate datacenters, with ribbon cutting happening in 2017 for locations in Texas and Arizona. Furthermore, all this is accessed from any place, anytime, because the Cloud is wherever you need it to be, right? Well, the Cloud is actually wherever you have a reliable Internet connection. And despite Azure’s graphical interface, you’d still better be well versed in PowerShell to get the most out of its automation capabilities. Announcing the Kelverion Runbook Studio making Azure Automation easier to use

As an IT Process Automation specialist who has been using System Center 2012 R2 Orchestrator and Opalis since 2007, I was very excited by Microsoft’s announcement in 2014 of Azure Automation their new cloud based automation platform.  I have been an avid user and follower of Azure Automation since its inception as a pure PowerShell interface, into its graphical authoring capability via the Azure Portal. Azure Automation is an incredibly powerful tool but it does require a high degree of PowerShell knowledge and necessities a constant internet connection to be able to develop anything. We realised at Kelverion that this need for PowerShell knowledge and the internet connection would be a stumbling block for Azure Automation adoption at most customers because not every IT engineer mumbles Po...
