Azure Analysis Services in Public Preview, More Announcements

The public preview of Azure Analysis Services was made available today, along with some additional announcements of the following: 

·       SQL Server 2016 DW Fast Track: Provides flexibility of solutions and customer choice across hardware vendors’ technologies, and uses the core capabilities of the Windows Server operating system and SQL Server to deliver a balanced data warehouse with optimized performance.

·       Data migration assistant: Enables customers to upgrade to a modern data platform by detecting compatibility issues that can impact database functionality on your new version of SQL Server.

·       Azure SQL Data Warehouse Expanded Free Trial: Customers can sign up for the exclusive Azure SQL Data Warehouse free trial starting October 25. The trial gives customers one free month.

·       Technical Preview for Power BI reports in SQLO Server Reporting Service: Virtual Machine that lets customers test creating and publishing of Power BI reports to SQL Server Reporting Services. Products include Power BI Desktop, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server database and SQL Server Analysis Services 

Joseph Sirosh, corporate vice-president, of the Microsoft Data Group, will also deliver a keynote on Wednesday, October 26 at the Professional Association of SQL Server (PASS) Summit to talk more about these announcements. The keynote will be streamed live HERE at 8:15 a.m. PT.
