ConfigMgr – List all Servers with Maintenance Windows

Developed a report to show all servers that have collection maintenance windows. Very handy for cross checking servers in multiple maintenance windows, or supplying a list to support change control. Here is the query: -- List Computers with Maintenance Window … Continue reading →

Virtual Log Files and impact on ConfigMgr performance

VLF (Virtual Log Files) can have a negative effect on database performance. Too many VLFs will slow down the startup, shutdown and read/write performance of any database. VLFs are created when a transaction log file is allowed to auto-grow. While auto-growth will likely be enabled per database, the transaction log file should already be […]

Optimizing ConfigMgr databases

Installing and configuring the CMMonitor database Background The SCCM 2007 and Configuration Manager built-in site maintenance index rebuild task does not always run. Configuration Manager now supports SQL Server 2012

A lot of folks have been asking when will ConfigMgr support SQL Server 2012. Here is the update on that, it is only supported if ConfigMgr 2007 SP2 and R3 are installed on SQL Server 2008, or SQL Server 2008 R2 and then upgraded to SQL Server 2012. An install of ConfigMgr directly to SQL Server 2012 is not supported. For more information, please read http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archiv...
