Apple owning up to customer reports of iPhone 8 models that experience unexpected restarts, a frozen screen, or won’t turn on and will replace the affected units free of charge.
Specific units are affected that were sold in September 2017 to March 2018 and have a specific serial number range.
To find out if your iPhone 8 is affected, use the serial number lookup tool provided: iPhone 8 Logic Board Replacement Program
All affected iPhones will be sent to the Apple Repair Center, so you’ll be without your smartphone until its returned. You can use an Apple Authorized Service Provider, an Apple Retail Store, or Apple only support to arrange mail-in service to start the repair process.
