The Echo Look, Amazon’s alternative Alexa-enabled device has up until now been only available for a hand-selected few. Today the company is making the device available for everyone.
In its simplest definition, the primary function of Echo Look is to capture your wardrobe and make suggestions:
Echo Look is designed with a focus on personal style. It’s the only Echo that has a hands-free camera optimized to capture your outfits, and style assistant. With built-in LED lighting, Style Check to get a second opinion on your outfit, and a dedicated app where you can see yourself from every angle and build your personal lookbook, Echo Look helps you manage your style.
But, more than just a style guide, the Echo Look has Intel-based cameras built in, giving the Look the ability to “see” Amazon customers. This makes for an interesting future for Alexa when coupled with Jeff Bezos new-found love for robots. Utilizing Alexa and the Intel camera could help bring Alexa-based robots closer to fruition, but at least give Alexa the ability to respond based on visual cues in addition to voice commands.
Surprisingly, the Echo Look sits at $199, which makes it the most expensive Alexa-enabled device from Amazon.
