Amazon has really made a name for itself for its own label on various items. Around here the only battery we use anymore is the AmazonBasics versions. They’ve not let us down yet.
So, imagine my surprise when one of our Xbox One controllers went <ahem> “missing” and I found that Amazon has actually branched out in this area, too. With AmazonBasics branding, this wired Xbox One controller has quickly become a favorite. And, because it works with the Xbox One and PCs, my older son decided to snag one for his PC gaming.
You’d think that there would be a downfall to using a non-Microsoft controller. I mean, historically, third-party offerings from companies like Mad Catz, feel third-rate and cheap and really don’t take the pounding required for long-term gaming use. But, this AmazonBasics version is solid. From the controls to the buttons and triggers, the controller is worthy and kid approved. The included 10 ft cord makes not having another wireless controller a moot point.
Plus, the kids love the texture of the handholds. I did also snag a Xbox One USB Expander just in case.
The AmazonBasics Xbox One controller is a solid buy at over half the price of a new, authentic version from Microsoft. We’ll be buying this one again.
