Amazon today has updated its Amazon Drive desktop app for Windows and Mac to put the focus on backing up customer photos and videos instead of general docs and files. The company didn’t change anything about how the application works because it does still allow customers to choose folders and files to backup in just the same way.
The only things that have changed is the application’s name (Amazon Photos) and how the application is positioned to backup photos and videos. Even the page where customers download the application (https://amzn.to/2NpCCfW) still has Amazon Drive Apps in the page header and most of the page still references backing up and storing files.
