Amazon Chime Gets Skypier with Web-based Interface and Open Meetings

Not much has been said about Amazon’s Skype for Business competitor, Chime, in recent months. But, that doesn’t mean that the company has abandoned it. Not in the least.

Amazon has now rolled out a couple new features that should stoke business’ interest in the secure, real-time, communications service that simplifies video conferencing, online meetings, calls, and chat.

First off, only those that subscribe to the Chime service need an account. Subscribers can invite anyone to meetings and they don’t even need an account to join and participate.

Secondly, Amazon has added a new web-based interface to Chime, allowing anyone with access to a web browser to join meetings.
