Amazon Adds Deregistration Monitoring to Alexa for Business Management

Amazon Adds Deregistration Monitoring to Alexa for Business Management

One would think that being able to monitor when devices are deregistered or taken offline would be a piece of a polished management solution, but Amazon is slowly building the portfolio of features available to Alexa for Business customers.

Based on customer request…

Alexa for Business now lets IT administrators monitor when shared devices are deregistered from the Alexa for Business account. Shared devices are placed in common areas, such as conference rooms and building lobbies, and are managed centrally with the Alexa for Business console. By knowing when shared devices are deregistered, you can take corrective action and delete the deregistered devices from the console.

The feature is enabled automatically for Alexa for Business users and the management console is used to identify the devices that are online and those that are offline. Amazon recommends using the company’s CloudWatch product to concoct actual notifications to be alerted in real-time when devices are deregistered.
