For those purchasing an Echo Show, you might be scratching your head on this one.
When you ask Alexa to search for YouTube videos, you might get the following message:
YouTube is currently in restricted mode. To configure, look in settings in the Alexa app
The Echo Show has a restricted access setting and YouTube is in this list by default – probably due to the potential of rated material.
To remove YouTube from the restricted list…
- Tell Alexa to “Go to settings,” or swipe down from the top of the Echo Show screen and select Settings.
- Locate and select Restrict Access.
- Locate YouTube and disable restricted access.
