Alexa Tip: Supported Services for Dash Wand

With the release of Amazon’s updated Dash Wand, you might consider that this is the perfect device to gain entry into the world of Alexa, and for one very important reason: because its essentially free. The device costs $20 and then Amazon provides a $20 credit for your next purchase with Amazon. $20 – $20 = essentially free.

But, its worth noting that not all Alexa features work with the Dash Wand.

At its core, the Dash Wand is focused on grocery (and other things) purchases. In fact, after you setup the Dash Wand, you receive a 90-day free trial of the AmazonFresh service. So, there are certain features that simply won’t work with the Dash Wand, including streaming music, most Alexa skills, flash briefing, etc. It also cannot purchase digital content.

What the Dash Wand does support is the following…

Local Search (including restaurants)
Movie Showtimes
